Our life in Christ must begin with a funeral

Our life with God must begin with a funeral.

Why? Because God needed to fix what Adam had done.

For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him]. Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus

(Romans 6:10 - 6:11)

So now God no longer has to deal with our sin like He did in the Old Testament because instead of cleaning us up, or even covering our sins He decided instead to just kill us. So now He can work on and with us from His righteousness, and holiness.

One question we must come to terms with is this;

Do you believe what God believes about you?

If we believe that Jesus didn't just die for me but that He dies as me, then we must live accordingly.

When the Father looked at the cross He didn't just see Jesus's face He saw mine and yours. Killing us with Christ.

Then we have been given the Holy Spirit who know dwells in us because we are new, He did not want to dwell in our old selves, so He came in us when we became new and now He is ever present teaching us how to live a new life.

We will never experience a new life unless we let the old die!

We need to ask ourselves the question, do I focus more on the old self or the new me in Jesus.

If therefore the Son shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed

(John 8:36)
